We use Vangos a lot in 48th Fife (Dalgety Bay) Scout Group – particularly in Donibristle Scout Troop.
These are expensive pieces of kit, so we have to treat them properly and keep them in good order.
That starts with pitching them correctly:
This video features a green nylon flysheet – ours are orange canvas, but otherwise they are the same.
Pay particular attention to how those pitching support the poles to prevent the A-pieces from breaking. THESE ARE EXPENSIVE and if they break whilst you are pitching the tent, you could end up without a tent to sleep in! At least whilst you are perfecting your tent pitching skills, do this as a two-person task. And do not stand on any of the tent whilst pitching or packing.
And here’s the written instructions – handy if you want to print off and keep close to hand for a reminder!
How we pack a Vango Force 10
Before you start: ensure you’ve removed ALL rubbish and done up the flysheet door.
